Malta Island
The island of Malta is a small independent nation state in the centre of the Mediterranean, just 93 km South of Sicily-Italy in Southern Europe. Malta is an island nation that consists of three islands: main island Malta, Gozo and Comino. The country’s official languages are Maltese and English. Malta’s capital city is Valletta, which is centrally located on the island’s North coast and has the island’s largest harbor.
The island of Malta is definitely one of the top holiday destinations in the Mediterranean Sea. The pearl of the Mediterranean Sea, being at the crossroad between Italian, Arabic and North African cultures, can offer a unique mixture of East and West through its language, landscapes and gastronomy. This tiny microcosm has been influenced by Spanish monarchs, French rulers, and then colonised by Britain. So this island has a unique charm that will satisfy any dream holiday you have in mind. . A picturesque island with stunning architecture from throughout the ages, holidays to Malta offers a vast array of things to do and see which keeps visitors going back for breaks for year after year.The Island of Malta has some staggering coastline scenery, with an abundance of caves, coves and even has some wonderful beaches, on which to take advantage of the magnificent weather. Malta holidays are growing more and more in popularity as the year’s progress, and are now enjoyed by lots of people from all around the world, all year round. These attractions of the island consist in the many beautiful place around the island,like Paradise Bay who can be found in the northen coast ,next to Cirkewwa.It is a small bay with great views as you approach the beach.
As well on this island we can find the “Popeye Village”. The movie called ‘Popeye the movie’ was filmed on this beautiful island and the set now called ”Popeye Village”. He was constructed at Anchor Bay just west of Melleha and now this location become a tourist attraction suitable for families, particularly the younger tourists. Among another attractions that bring the Malta holidaymakers back each year is the islands annual jazz festival; this can be enjoyed during the third weekend in July. And for those that like to go a little earlier in the year, the National folk Singing Festival that occurs around late May.
