Maldives Islands
The Maldives or Maldive Islands , officially Republic of Maldives , is an island nation in the Indian Ocean formed by a double chain of twenty-six atolls stretching in a north-south direction off India 's Lakshadweep islands, between Minicoy Island and Chagos Archipelago. It stands in the Laccadive Sea , about seven hundred kilometers (435 mi) south-west of Sri Lanka and (250 mi) south-west of India.

What happens if there's a really big storm? I see those little houses sitting out in the water, and all I can think of is, "I'd never do it." Do they not have ocean waves there, or is it like a flat lake? I'm not familiar with this part of the world at all, so I'm sorry if the question sounds ignorant.
